The Wainui House
This is the classic state house. It has great bones, rimu structure and weatherboard cladding, however the layout and space planning could be better and it was in dire need of a new kitchen and bathroom.
The house was completely renovated, achieving both efficiency and elegance.
The aim of this project was to open the main space, by removing four walls to create a large contemporary kitchen perfect for entertaining; double doors lead out to the new deck and BBQ area creating an alfresco experience. The brief was to ensure it was both practical and welcoming, so wooden surfaces seemed the obvious choice. Lifestyle is the key.
The bathroom was more about luxury and peace, whilst maximizing space. A beautiful claw bath, separate shower and custom designed vanity with a Jarrah clash all work to create a unique setting. The colours have been chosen from a neutral pallet of stone contrasting beautifully with the natural warm tones of the wood, this creates an overall synergy linking one space to the next.
